5 people killed in Vienna terror attacks; PM Modi says India stands with Austria during this tragic time

Vienna has been hit by a Terror attack. According to reports atleast five people have died in the attack. The incident happened on the Monday evening, when Multiple gunmen opened fired in 6 different locations in central Vienna. During to the attack five people were killed and Seventeen other were injured. The attack took place few hours before a partial lockdown was about to be placed due to Corona-virus pandemic. After the incident, Hundreds of policemen & special unit forces have started the search for the gunmen.


The police have shot dead one of the assailant and are looking for others involved in the terror attack.
Addressing the terror attack, Interior Minister Karl Nehammer called the assailant killed by the police an “Islamist terrorist”.
American President Donald Trump has reacted to the terror attack by tweeting- “Our prayers are with the people of Vienna after yet another vile act of terrorism in Europe. These evil attacks against innocent people must stop. The U.S. stands with Austria, France, and all of Europe in the fight against terrorists, including radical Islamic terrorists”.
PM Modi assured support to Austria by tweeting- “Deeply shocked and saddened by the dastardly terror attacks in Vienna. India stands with Austria during this tragic time. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.’
French President Emmanuel Macron also assured support to austria and tweeted: “Europe is in mourning. One of our own has been hit hard by Islamist terrorism. We think of the victims, their families, the shattered lives. France stands alongside Austria, ready to lend its support.”
