Woman marries 3 men in 3 months, runs away with their valuables

A 27-year-old woman from Aurangabad was arrested on Saturady for allegedly cheaing several men in Maharashtra. The woman was arrested for allegedly marrying men and then running away with their belongings. The woman was arrested after a complaint was registered by one of her victims (Yogesh Shirsath), police informed. The woman has been identified as Vijaya Amrute, a resident of Mukundwadi. Vijaya Amrute married Yogesh Shirsath of Sinnar from Nashik. She then allegedly ran away with Shirsath’s valuables, after a fortnight of their marriage.
Preliminary Investigation has revealed that Amrute is a married woman with a son. She joined a racket involved in cheating men on the pretext of marriage. Amrute started duping men of their belongings after she and her husband lost their jobs because of the lockdown. In the past three months, she allegedly duped three men after marrying them, a Police officer said.
According to the Times of India’s report, Amrute first married Shirsath. She then ran away with his ornaments just a fortnight after the marriage. Amrute then married Shendeep Darade, a resident of Raogad’s Karjat and robbed him. Her third marriage was with a man from western Maharashtra.
