The Mumbai Police entered Arnab Goswami’s residence and took him away in Police Van. They took Goswami to their crime branch office. The arrest took place during Wednesday morning. Arnab Goswami is the editor in Editor-In-Chief and Managing Director of Republic Media Network and is famous for unapologetically raising questions during his debate shows.
Goswami has claimed that he was “physically assaulted” by the police. Republic TV has slammed Goswami’s arrest and tweeted “#IndiaWithArnab | Arnab Goswami physically assaulted and forcefully arrested by Mumbai Police; Republic appeals to Indians to defend democracy”. According to Reports, Goswami has been arrested for abetment to suicide case. In May 2018, an Interior designer named Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik were found dead at their Alibaug bungalow.
Adnya (Naik’s daughter) claimed non-payment of dues by the Republic TV as the cause of her father & grandmother’s suicide. The case was registered against him in the year 2018 and has been reopened by the Mumbai Police after being closed earlier.
