Woman’s tongue and nose chopped after she refused to remarry in Rajasthan

In a horrific act of crime, a widow’s tongue & nose were chopped off after she refused to remarry. The incident took place in the Jaisalmer city of Rajasthan.


According to Hindi News18 online’s report, the woman was being pressured to marry a particular man chosen by her in-laws. The woman’s in-laws chopped off her nose and tongue after she refused their marriage proposal.


The woman was married to a man named Koje Khan, who died a year after their marriage. The woman was being pressurized to get married to another man since then.

On Tuesday at 1 pm, the attacker came on a tractor and attacked the victim with a sharp-edged weapon. The woman also suffered fracture in her hand during the assault. Another person also suffered injuries while trying to intervene.


The brother of the woman filled a complaint against the attacker at the Sankara police station. The Police have arrested the main assailant (named Janu Khan) in the case. The other accused in the case is currently on the run. The police have raided various locations for finding the accused.


The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital in Jodhpur.
