A 16 year old missing girl’s body was found hanging from a tree in Sambhal district’s forest area. On Wednesday night, the girl reportedly ran away to get married with her 18 year old neighbor named Arjun Kumar. Police found the body of the minor girl on Thursday night.
The police have arrested the boy and a complaint was lodged against him by the father of the girl. The police have also registered a case of murder against the boy. The girl’s body has been sent been for post-mortem.
“The girl’s father has alleged that her daughter was abducted by the accused and later killed in a forest area. We have booked the accused for murder and have detained him.” Gunnaur Circle Officer Krishna Kant Saroj informed.
“During questioning, he said that he had attempted to kill himself along with the girl but was saved because of the loose rope. He confessed that he could not gather the courage to kill himself later. We will continue to investigate and the accused will be sent to jail soon,” he further added.
The Police informed that the girl was a Class 9 student and was said to be in a relationship with the accused boy, who is a Class 10 student.
