Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi expires

Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader of Assam Tarun Gogoi  was tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to hospital in the month of August 2020.

After battling with COVID-19 again on November 2nd 2020, his health detoriated and was driven to GMCH with post COVID complications and was on non-invasive ventilation (NIV). On 21st November’20 his condition ran-down and had breathed last on 23rd Nov’20 at the age of 86, around 5:34pm. He was born on 1st April 1936 and was the Chief Minister from 2001 to 2016. He was the member of the Indian National Congress and led the party to a record three consecutive electoral victories in Assam.
