This speech of the BJP leader sparked controversy and Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, the grandson of the Nizam VII lashed out at him for “spewing unnecessary negative narrative against Nizam VII.”

Khan further asked the politicians to seek votes by working for the people and expressed the opinion that “these politicians cannot change the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb which has been a part of the culture of the people of Hyderabad for centuries.” He further accused that his grandfather’s name is being tarnished for petty political gains and reminded how the late Nizam had donated 5 tons of gold for the National Defence Fund. “In terms of today’s gold price this donation accounts for more than Rs 1,600 crores, making it the biggest donation in history.”
