MAN RAPED EIGHT-YEAR-OLD COUSIN, STRANGLED HER TO DEATH IN RAJASTHAN

In a ghastly turn of events, cousin, aged 22, raped and murdered his minor cousin, aged 8 after abducting her from her house on Friday night where she was peacefully sleeping with her mother and sister in the absence of her father. The rape took place at the Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan.

“The accused is the victim’s cousin. He raped her on Saturday and later killed her by strangulation. The accused then threw her body in a well of the village,” Ravindra Pratap Singh, station house officer (SHO) of the Choti Sadri police station informed. He further added, “When the body was recovered, bloodstains were found on different parts of the body.” 

The victim’s family finding her missing had lodged a police complaint on Saturday afternoon. Following this, the police made an extensive search and recovered the deceased’s body from the village well within a short span of time. Around 50 people were interrogated thoroughly and two days later, on Monday, the accused was arrested.

The lifeless body of the rape victim was sent for post-mortem which affirmed her cause of death and further revealed that her neck was broken and numerous wounds were inflicted on her.
