December 23, 2020:. Rajdeep Goala, the former Congress MLA from Lakhipur, today, submitted his application requesting primary membership of Bhartiya Janata Party to the BJP president, Assam Pradesh, Mr. Ranjit Kumar Das. He shared a picture of the event which took place at his residence on Facebook along with the news.
Other dignitaries present at the event were General Secretary of BJP, Assam Pradesh, Mr. Phanindranath Sharma, Local MP Mr. Rajdeep Roy and Mr. Tapan Gogoi.
He even expressed his heartful grattitude to all the above mentioned and tgat he was honoured to have them as his guest for the day.
Rajdeep Goala, in question has served the Congress party previously and was expelled from the party for 6 years for “anti-party” activities. Soon Goala announced his decision to join BJP which was further confirmed by Himanta Biswa Sarma, Health and Education minister of Assam when he claimed a few months ago that Goala along with some other MLAs will be joining the BJP soon.
Assam is set to go into polls in early 2021.
