The Govt. Of Assam and the Employee’s Union have come to an agreement on Rs. 650 crore to be paid as liquidation sum by the liquidator. This amount is for the relief of the employees of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Cachar and Nagaon. This marks a clear silver lining for those desolate for so long and a great news for Barak valley. Additionally, 100 jobs have also been promised by Shri Piyush Hazarika, Minister of Information & Public Relation to former employees of the paper mill upon proof of competency.
