The Government pension, On Tuesday (14 September) Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that pensions would be distributed fast and in a hassle-free manner, from family pension to unmarried daughter Assam.
CM sarma held a review meeting with the Director of pension Assam and took a stock of the pendency of pension cases and disbursal rate.
Later, CM Himanta Sarma wrote on Facebook, ” Pensions should be disbursed fast and in a hassle-free manner. I reiterated this in a review with the Directorate of Pension and took stock of the pendency of pension cases and disbursal rate. Goa is working towards a system of providing pension on the day of retirement to govt employees. To make the pension disbursement system paperless & swift, directed Assam Electronics Dvpt Corp Ltd (AMTRON) to align Kritagyata & AMTRON pension portals & link with treasury offices. Directorate of Pension to aim at disposal of 1500 pension cases per month, from now onwards”.
The old-age pension Assam, earlier, The state government has taken decision to increase the reservation for Divyangans (differently-abled) in case of jobs. The reservation has been increased from three percent to four percent.
In the new pension scheme and widow pension scheme, it may be mentioned that various organizations and groups have been over the years pressing for the fulfillment of various demands related to the welfare of differently-abled/ specially-abled people. The national pension scheme, the Ujoni Asom Protibondhi Suraksha Parishad (UAPSP) had earlier this month submitted a memorandum to State Finance and Social Welfare Minister, Ajanta Neog has been demanding for the resolution of various problems.
The president of the organization Biswabijoy Bora said in the memorandum that the differently-able persons have been demanding resolution of their long-pending demands, but the government did not take any necessary action relating to this matter.
However, they also demanded to identify the fraud differently-abled government employees and appointed eligible differently-abled persons in the government services.
The identity card of the differently-abled persons should be examined by experienced doctors and the government benefits that should be provided to the deserving beneficiaries.
