Denmark lifts almost all the COVID pandemic restrictions

Denmark COVID restrictions lifted, declared that the coronavirus was no longer a critical threat to the society and allowing the country to get back to the pre-pandemic normal.

 Health Minister Magnus Heunicke told the Danish broadcaster TV2 on Friday, “Everyday life has pretty much returned to normal, but it does not mean that there is no danger”. 

As per the reports of Xinhua News Agency, He noted that with a high vaccination rate among the population, “we are in a good place”.

In the past 24 hours, Denmark’s Statens Serum Institute (SSI), the country’s infectious diseases agency has registered 557 new cases and four deaths, bringing the national total of 351,553 infections and 2,608 fatalities.

The public had mixed feelings about the disappearance of restrictions.

The Ministry of Health Magnus Heunicke said on 27 August, “The pandemic is under control, we have record high vaccination rates. Therefore, we can drop some special rules we have had to introduce in the fight against COVID-19.”

Jens Lundgren Professor of viral diseases at Copenhagen University Hospital, told the Xinhua news agency that “At the moment, I think that we have reason to favor lifting restrictions, but this does not mean that we would not go back to restrictions later on”. 

He also said, ” That is why an extensive surveillance is now being implemented in Denmark to make sure that we capture early signs of a potential worsening of the pandemic.”

Denmark travel restrictions COVID-19, Since August 14, the wear of the face mask or shield is still mandatory at the airports and people are advised to wear one when at the doctor’s test centers or hospitals.

Health Minister said, “minor restrictions will still apply around utilities like wastewater, entry restrictions to medical establishments and care homes as well as the requirement for facemasks at airports and onboard planes to comply with international rules”. He further added, Denmark placed further orders for millions of doses including newly developed types to tackle new variants despite the end of restrictions.  Health Minister requested the people to take the vaccine to avoid transmitting the infections to other citizens.

 Denmark COVID restrictions October 2021, The Danish Health Authority said that about 90% of the total population must be vaccinated against the Coronavirus by October 1.
