The people of the Aflagoan Village (Assam) have alleged that the Public Distribution System (PDS) rice provided to them and has been mixed with Plastic rice. Is there plastic in Rice, as per the allegations made by the Aflagoan Village council development committee.
The Rice mixed with plastic has been provided every month to the families belonging to the Below Poverty Line at a rate of Rs 1 per kg. Families have reportedly have stopped the consumption of artificial rice.
The Ramfalbil Samabai Samity has been called out by the BJP families residing in Aflagoan, Belguri, Podmabil, and South Aflagoan region for supplying white rice plastic mixed with the regular rice and claimed that consuming such rice would ruin their health.
The BJP families also said that this month is the only time they have received such Rice, and it has never happened earlier.
However, The District Food and Civil supplies department provided the Samity with Rice that has to be shared among the BJP cardholders.
As per the statement made by the families, The fake rice is said to be bigger in size than the regular ones. When grounded, the rice turns into particles and becomes steamy with a dirty scent when cooked.
