One of the popular tourist places to be visited around the Silchar are is the ruins of the forts of Dimasa Kings, more commonly known as the Khashpur Rajbari. Kashpur Rajbari will be soon developed into a popular tourist destination. The village will be built in the model of the Kalakshetra in Guwahati. This in a bid to develop the tourist desitination and highlight the history of Khaspur Cachar. This announcement was made by the Assam Chief Minister in a press conference in Silchar on Monday.
Assam CM Sarma said that Kashpur will be made into a popular tourist destination by the Assam government and Kashpur fort will be built in the model of the Kalakshetra. CM said that several plans have been made for its development.
A budget of Rs 10 crore was also announced for the historic Bhuvan Tirtha Vikas. Additionally, several schemes were also announced by the Chief Minister for the Cachar district’s development.
The Assam Chief Minister while addressing the media announced many schemes for the development of Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The 500-bedded hospital and SMCH cancer hospital is to be completed by the year 2022.
Plans to create a new space to integrate all the departments under the DC under one roof in a new space have also been laid. The DC of the Cachar district was instructed to manage land within a period of 10 days.
However, the district administration has also been instructed to fix land in Lakhimpur so that Silchar Central jail can be shifted there.
