On 23 September, Heath Minister Mansukh Mandaviya released the National comprehensive guidelines on post covid management to give guidance on long-term health issues. In a tweet, he said that “This will help the health workers prepare for the post-covid health complications in advance and give suitable treatment to patients”.
He also said “This is the first such series of seven modules released in India. There are post covid fever management, providing extensive guidelines for the medical fraternity. This includes a module for the healthcare providers to deal with mental health, which is of utmost importance.”
The Health Minister expressing his happiness on the release of the guidelines, said that these have been prepared to provide guidance to doctors and health care workers to deal with the issue of long-term effects of COVID.
“The proactive and comprehensive treatment of covid is required to ensure minimum side effects and no negative effect of the treatment,” said Mandaviya.
He further stated that the consequence of post-covid effect in patients has been witnessed due to taking higher doses of steroids like cases of Mucormycosis. He stressed that it is important to take medicine, with less or negligible side effects.
