Assam to lifts covid guidelines and Travel Restrictions From November 1

Assam to lift covid guidelines and Travel Restrictions: The number of COVID 19 cases per day has been declining in Assam for the past few months. Therefore, the State government has decided to lift some restrictions related to Assam COVID travel guidelines. This has also been done to revive the tourism sector of the state in all ways.

While speaking on this matter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently stated that the government will start lifting restrictions from November 1. He believed it to be prudent since the COVID situation in the state has improved considerably.

During his speech on the occasion of World Tourism Day, organized by the State Government, he also announced to provide a relief package of INR 2 lakh each to 142 tour operators and INR 25000 each to 605 guides in the state. Tthis step has been taken to help them overcome the losses caused by the pandemic.

CM, in his speech, added that the government is continuously working to lift all COVID-related restrictions from November 1 in the State. Also, the Government is putting its effort to make sure that the maximum number of people get vaccinated during that timeline.

CM is hopeful that the tourism industry will observe a boom in the coming days. He also expressed hope that COVID would no longer be able to threaten the lives and livelihood of people of the world from 2022.

CM in his speech mentioned that promotion of unexplored places of Assam to the tourist will play a key role in the development of this sector. Further, he urged industry stakeholders not to keep the tourism circuit limited to only a few known places.

The CM also noted that the state’s handloom, food, tribal culture, handicraft, and natural beauty must also be explored by travelers. CM further said that the tour operators should aggressively promote places in Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), and other parts of the state.

CM Himanta Biswa Sharma appreciated Indian Railways’ initiative to start Vistadome service from Guwahati to New Haflong in Dima Hasao, which has the potential to promote this tourism of this region.
