Lakhipur Police arrested two suspected militants from In a Raid in Nijingsao Basti Lakhipur
In a successful raid conducted in Nijingsao Basti under the leadership of SDPO Lakhipur Kula Pradip Bhattacharya, Lakhipur Police recovered factory-made weapons. The joint rade was conducted by SDPO Lakhipur Kula Pradip Bhattacharya with OC Jirighat, OC Joypur, and a team from Dima Hasao.
Pradip Bhattacharjee in his statement said that “factory-made muzzle loading gun, gunpowder, bullets camouflage dressed and hunting boots have been recovered from the possession of the two individuals”.
Darneithuom Hmar, son of Chcawnkheaw Lal Hmar, resident of Bijungsao Village, and Jehoba Choreai son of Lien Choreai have been arrested in the ride. The latter is a resident of Dharmanagar, Tripura. Pradip Bhattacharya adding to his statement said that legal action has been initiated against both the accused.
Further adding to his statement Mr. Bhattacharya mentioned that the investigation is going on and he also said that the detained person may be associated with an insurgent group.
