Teachers in Cachar district have been directed to finalize their pension documents three months before retirement. The directive was given at a meeting of District Education officials held in Silchar on Wednesday at the initiative of District Magistrate.
Before one year of the retirement of the teachers of the district, the documents of the teachers should be collected . This was decided in the meeting held under the the Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli. The meeting reviewed the progress of the work related to the pension of the teachers who have retired after 2010. In addition, how to submit pension related documents through the state government’s gratitude portal has also been discussed.
A statement further said that the progress of the pension work has been checked through the concerned portal. It is to be noted that through the portal, pensions are also available for teachers and employees of lower branches of educational institutions. The meeting prepared a list for setting up Aadhar centres in educational institutions and appointing verifiers for issuing Aadhar cards to 3 lakh students in the district. All block elementary education officers and school inspectors are asked to submit to the administration soon.
The meeting was attended by DDC Rajib Roy, Inspector of schools Samina Ara Rahma, District Elementary Education Officer Sumitra Dev, DI of Schools Nurul Haque Mazarbhuiyan and other CEOs. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jalli said the administration has set targets for retired teachers and employees to get their pensions on time. The meeting directed the lead District Manager of the bank to take steps to make it easier for students to open bank accounts so that the benefits of various schemes can be directly accessed in the student’s account.
