“Martyrs are killers”, Congress MLA Sherman Ali, who was arrested by Assam Police for this statement has been rearrested for embezzling money from MLA Development Fund. Sherman was arrested on Saturday by CM Vigilance Cell on this serious charge.
As he was sent to police custody on Friday, for a case filed at Panbazar Police station, he was produced directly in the court of special judge of Kamrup in the case of CM Vigilance on Friday. Vigilance then filed an application in court seeking his remand for questioning in connection with the scandal. The court allowed MLA Ali to be remanded in custody for five days.
He will be produced in court again in five days. Meanwhile while producing him in court, MLA Ali commented, ”Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, who has been accused of being involved in the Sarda scandal and Lui Burger scandal has no moral right to ask Chief Minister Vigilance to investigate on me.”
The Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell has arrested Congress MLA Sherman Ali for allegedly being involved in embezzling MLA development capital in the Mandia development block under the Baghbar Assembly constituency. It is alleged that in the name of the MLA Development Fund, in the years 2016-2017, an amount of 25 lakhs have been squandered. The Chief Minister’s Vigilance team has continued the interrogation by taking MLA Sherman Ali to court for five days.
