Udharband road accident: Following the horrific road accident, the injured were rushed to Medical College and Hospital in Udharband. Advised to know the details of the incident, he was later taken to Silchar. After knowing the details, it came to light that a 40-year-old man named Debul Mura was hit by a lorry loaded with stones. He was immediately taken to the primary health center. But due to his serious condition, he was taken to Silchar Medical College and hospital.
Meanwhile, the deadly lorry escaped but there was intense tension in the area over the incident. Locals blocked the road demanding the installation of speed breakers on the road. After receiving the news, SI Anku Saikia along with Udharband Police Station OC Pradeep Haloi arrived at the spot with the team. They reached the spot and tried to convince the excited crowd. After about three hours, the police officers intervened and released the small vehicles. They claimed that their blockade will continue until speed breakers are installed on the road.
According to the latest news, the locals are adamant in their decision and the heavy vehicles are stuck in the blockade. The blockaders vandalized the lorry at around 9 pm when another lorry carrying stones tried to cross the blockade. The driver and co-driver sustained minor injuries. As of press time, the borrowed police had not been able to seize the vehicle and the road blockade continued.
