Srihatta Sammilani to not organize Bijaya Sammelan in protest of the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh

The Srihatta Sammilani of Silchar is not organizing a Bijaya Sammelan this time to protest against the destruction of Durgotsab in Bangladesh. This news was broken at a press conference at Silchar on Tuesday by the members of Srihatta Sammilani.

The officials of the organization have demanded to organize Jagadhatri Puja in all the Durga Puja mandapas in Bangladesh where worship isn’t allowed under government supervision. At the same time, the organization also demanded that Jagadhatri Puja be held on 12th November in the Golaghat district of Assam where Durga Puja could not be held due to the obstruction of an organization called Sankardev Sangha.

Kishore Bhattacharya, President of Silchar Srihatta Sammilani, Swarnali Chowdhury, acting President, General Secretary Santosh Chanda, organizing Secretary Ashim Bhattacharya, and others have also strongly demanded that all the temples destroyed in the communal riots be rebuilt on government initiative. Swarnali Chowdhury, the acting president of the conference, said that the way in which the majority is attacking the minorities in Bangladesh is very inhuman and tragic. In this incident, the officials of the conference were also present.

Expressing grief over this heinous incident in Bangladesh, Swarnali said that Sammilani is not organizing Bijaya Sammelan in protest. The officials of the conference expressed their deepest condolences to the victims of the riots as well as their deepest sympathies to the victims of extreme torture, rape, and indecency. They also demanded appropriate compensation.

In their words, Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibur Rahman said Hindu and Muslims are brothers. Present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should turn those words into reality. Kishore Bhattacharya said the incident in Bangladesh is barbaric. He further added that in that country, the pre-planned massacre of Hindus has started. No Hindu can keep Quran in the Pujo mandapa. Let the Bangladesh government take the toughest action against the fundamentalists. Let the Indian government force the Bangladesh government to stop the oppression of the Hindus of that country.
