Badarpur police raided Badarpurghat and seized a large amount of Yaba tablets. Two people have also been arrested for drug trafficking. After receiving the information from undercover sources, the police raided Badarpurghat around 8 am on Wednesday and seized 23,800 Yaba tablets from a Wagon R car. Two traffickers were arrested along with. The suspects are Mahbur Rahman and Abdul Kalam.
According to the sources, the suspects have been dealing with drugs in the entire district for a long time. Both of them live in Nilambazar of Karimganj district. Badarpur police, on a tip-off, chased the Wagon R car. The car was stopped in front of Badarpur police station. The two collected these yaba tablets from Baskandi in Cachar district, police said. The market value of the confiscated yaba tablets is estimated to be several lakh rupees.
