Barak Valley News | The memorial society will not accept the violation of language law in Barak

The Language Martyr’s Memorial Society opened its mouth about the language aggression in Barak. The association did not support Kali Lepon in hoarding written in the Assamese language. But the association has urged every department of the government to abide by the language law.

Referring to the hoarding incident in Silchar railway station, Amrit Acharya and Manoj Deb, along with Biplob Kumar Goswami, general secretary of the association, said Barak should use Bengali in government work in compliance with the language law. But it is also necessary to investigate the purpose for which the Jal Jeevan Mission authorities hung the hoardings in Assamese. The erection of such hoardings is not a new phenomenon, as the Barak language law has been violated in the past.

The officials of the association clearly said that the language rights of Barak have been realized through many struggles. As a result, violation of language law will not be tolerated under any circumstances. As a result, the Language Martyr’s Memorial Society has warned every government department to think carefully while sending government leaflets, hoardings, banners,s and forms. Biplob Kumar Goswami also said that all languages must be respected. So the incident of writing in another language is undesirable. Protests could have been done differently. This hoarding is not justified under any circumstances. However, Biplob Kumar Goswami also said that those who have violated the language law are also largely responsible for such unwanted incidents. The officials of the association reminded the administration that their motives and whether there is any conspiracy behind it should also be investigated.  Biplob Kumar Goswami, Amrit Acharya, and Manoj Deb have expressed fears that more such incidents may happen in the future. Manoj Deb clearly said that verbal aggression would not be tolerated under any circumstances. The association will not hesitate to build a strong movement against it.
