Recently, an incident has been reported from Karimganj district’s Nagharia village. Where ‘objectionable’ pictures of a housewife were made viral by a person. The lady has pleaded for ‘justice’ to the Superintendent of Police, Padmanabh Baruah. As per the updates, the accused are not yet arrested.
The village Nagharia falls under Patharkandi Police Station. It is located near Baroigram and is around 28 km away from Karimganj.
While speaking to the media, the housewife mentioned that the incident took place a few days back. The prime accused, who is identified as Nijam Uddin, is a mason by profession and was working at the victim’s house. As no one was present in the house the accused took the advantage of the situation. While the victim was sleeping with her baby inside the house, he clicked ‘objectionable’ pictures. The pictures showcased the accused, Nijam Uddin, and the victim in a compromising position.
Later, Nijam showed the pictures and demanded money from her. The victim claims that he also threatened her to post the pictures online. The housewife denied to pay the amount, resulting in which Najim making the pictures go viral on social media.
She later filed a case against Nijam Uddin and two other person named as Asad Uddin and Choloi Uddin at the Karimganj court. The housewife demanded justice and action from Karimganj Superintendent of Police, Padmanabh Baruah, regarding the matter
According to the sources, the case (930/21) has been filed under Section 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 34 ( acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 500 (defamation), and 67A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act were registered and a probe initiated.
Although the court-ordered Patharkandi Police to arrest the accused, no one has been arrested till the last update.
