According to sources, the first accident took place on Friday at 12:30 am. A youth named Lovely Chanda (22) was riding on a motorcycle with Pradip Ais (48) and the motorcycle skidded off as they were returning from Umarpur to Badarpur. As a result, both of them suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital, but considering their condition, they were taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. However, Lovely could not survive his injuries. Lovely was a resident of Sahelbari and Pradip hailed from Badarpurghat.
The second accident took place around 3 am on Friday night when a person Dipak Teli (28), who was riding on a bike, rammed into a truck parked on the roadside in Aalakulipur because of which Dipak died on the spot. Another person Subir Chakraborty (45) suffered injuries in the incident. Both Dipak and Subir are residents of the same area.
The dead bodies were handed over to the respective families.
