Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh has recently had a meeting with Boeing and Raytheon, American aerospace and defence majors. He asked them to take advantage of India’s policy initiatives to unremittingly march to ‘Make for the World’ from ‘Make in India’.
Rajnath Singh arrived in Washington D.C. along with Indian external affairs minister, S Jaishankar to attend the India-Us 2+2 ministerial dialogue, taking place on Monday, for the first time under the administration formed by Joe Biden.
The defence ministry tweeted on their twitter handle, “Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh met with the US aerospace & defence majora Boeing and Raytheon after reaching Washington DC. He exhorted the companies to take advantage of policy initiatives in India to steadily march from ‘Make in India’ towards ‘Make for the world’.”
On Monday, Singh and Jaishankar will be hosted by Antony Blinken US secretary of state and Lloyd Austin, US defence secretary for the 2+2 ministerial.
Taking place amidst the Russia-Ukraine one, the 2+2 ministerial can form a strategic relationship between India and the US.
The ministry of external affairs said in a press meet, “The 2+2 Dialogue will also provide an opportunity to exchange views about important regional and global development and how we can work together to address issues of common interest and concern.”
