Assam Vigilance Department has caught Madan Singha, senior account assistant of Silchar Treasury Office while taking bribe on Wednesday. He was caught red-handed in his chamber by the officers. According to sources, he was caught while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 for processing a communication loan.
The FIR was lodged by Gouri Sankar Singha, a retired government servant. Responding to his complaint, the anti-corruption team conducted a search operation and arrested Madhan Singha in the act. Gouri Sankar Singha was asked to pay the amount by Masan Singha for processing his loan request.
In a recent attempt of the administration to reduce corruption in Cachar, a team Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption has vowed to take down anyone who is found practicing any type of corruption. Since the last few months, many people have been arrested by the administration on the charge of corruption, including many government officials.
