The uber-famous Bollywood actor, Salman Khan, met the Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar at the Mumbai CP office to apply for a gun license for self-protection. Reports confirm that his plea was granted on July 31, 2022.
After the death of the famous congressman and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, the actor was constantly receiving death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Salman had been threatened by Bishnoi in the year 2018 as well.
Currently, Bishnoi is under the custody of Punjab Police and serving time in Tihar Jail of Delhi. Investigations revealed that he was involved in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala and Salman Khan and his father Saleem Khan are also on the probable hit list if Bishnoi.
Sidhu Moosewala was brutally killed in May this year in his car in Mansa district in the Jawaharke village. The incident created a lot of unrest in the country.
After this incident, the actor and his family’s was provided with a tighter security by the authorities. Not only at his residence, but the actor’s security was beefed-up on the film sets too. Mumbai Police officials have asked him not to roam around for morning walks and cycling on Bandra road.
Salman has taken this issue seriously, it seems, and has also upgraded his Land Cruiser with bulletproof armour. Getting the firearm license was quite challenging for Salman as the police has to go through his criminal record to assure that they do not get questioned for creating unrest in the country for issuance of the license.
