A case has been registered in Gurugram, Haryana against a dog owner after the pet pit bull attacked the woman and injured her badly.
The incident took place in Civil Line area in Gurugram. According to the sources, the dog bit the victim’s mouth, head and other body parts. She has been injured critically and is now seeking treatment in a hospital of Delhi.
The victim has been identified as Munni who works as a domestic help in the houses of the local people in the area. Reportedly, on Wednesday morning she as her regular routine was heading for her work, when she encountered Vinit Chikara who was walking on the street with his pit bull.
Munni claims that Chikara left the harness of the dog and instantly it pinned her down and started biting her all over her body. During this attack she mainly got injured on her head and face. The locals noticed the incident and rushed at her rescue. However, according to the complainant she is struggling for her survival at the hospital.
The owner of the dog is charged for leaving the dog open, which resulted in causing severe injuries to the woman. The act is considered as irresponsible and Vinit Chikara is accused of being negligent. His wife Neetu Chikara has also been booked under the Indian Penal Code at the Civil Lines police station.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime) Preet Pal Singh Sangwan said referring to the situation that they are investigating the matter and is looking forward to take the right action according to the law. The incidents where dogs are attacking people are evidently increasing in the country, which makes people concern about their safety from pet dogs. The series of incidents demands implementation of better rules and regulations for the dog owners and other civilians as well.
