‘Thala’ Dhoni to rule hearts in the entertainment industry

Indian cricket superstar and former World Cup winning captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is all set to expand his reign in the hearts of all Indians with his foray into the entertainment industry.

Dhoni Entertainment is a film production company established by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni. Known affectionately as ‘Thala’ in Tamil Nadu because of his long-standing association with Chennai Superkings, Dhoni is set to start his entertainment journey from the same state as well through a Tamil film venture.

The first film under the banner of Dhoni Entertainment, reportedly, is likely to be helmed by director Ramesh Thamilmani, the author of graphic novel Atharva – The Origin. The film is supposedly already in the preproduction stages and the cast and crew for the film is likely to be announced pretty soon.

Ramesh Thamilmani, in describing his excitement has stated, “From the moment I read the concept written by Sakshi, I knew it was special. The concept was fresh and had all the potential to be a fun-filled family-entertainer. I am honoured and very grateful for this opportunity to develop this really fresh concept into a feature film story and to be directing the film as well.”

The production house has established its headquarters in Chennai, however, according to them they are looking to create pan-India films in all languages. The production company is also reported to be in talks with Lokesh Kanagaraj to create a feature film for the box-office blockbuster franchise – Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Thalapathy Vijay has also been reported to have been roped in for the venture by the production house.

Some sources have also claimed that MS Dhoni himself is looking to make his presence felt on the silver screen through a supporting role in one of his upcoming film production ventures. While there is no concrete evidence pointing to the date and time of such occurences, Indian fans of the ‘Thala’ can only wait with bated breadth to see him on the big screen.
