Mamata Banerjee says she won’t disturb Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the state’s financial dues

On 2nd January, the Chief Minister of West Bengal stated that she wouldn’t disturb Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the financial issues of the state. The statement referred to the current situation of Modi losing his mother the last week. Heeraben Modi died in Ahmedabad on Friday.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee has requested PM Modi several times to manage the MGNREGA dues of the state government lead by her. Recently, she spoke to the media through a press conference and stated that she already wrote to the PM and requested him to clear the dues in the past. However, as it is time for him to mourn his loss, she won’t disturb him by bringing up the topic again in such a situation.

The inaugural function for multiple railway projects in West Bengal was the same day when Heeraben Modi left for her heavenly abode. PM Modi attended the event through video conference, where Mamata Banerjee consoled him by saying, “Your mother is also our mother.”
