Anupam Mittal slams Shark Tank India 2 pitchers for copying US-based apps

The second season of popular reality show Shark Tank India is creating quite some buzz. One of the show’s judges, Anupam Mittal, recently slammed a pitcher who tried to get investments for a children’s learning app.

Sourav and Gunjan Gupta pitched their app in the episode that aired on Tuesday. The pitchers mentioned they were extremely proud of their idea and were quite happy.

However, the judges felt the other way around. Vineeta Singh mentioned that she feels nothing is good about the app; instead, it can be addictive to kids. Besides, the pitchers tried to cut Vineeta down while she was talking, which annoyed her more. While Anupam Mittal seemed unimpressed and highlighted that the app is nothing but a dupe of a US-based app. He strongly stated that the idea of Sourav and Gunjan is not revolutionary, instead is a copy of a huge app in the US, ABC Mouse. Anupam further added that their app idea is similar to Kidopia and Appy stores. While the pitchers tried to deny that they copied, Anupam asked them to meet outside so that he could show what his 5-year-old daughter plays.

Sourav and Gunjan couldn’t impress any of the judges with their pitch and thus had to leave the show empty Handed.
