Intel has announced the 4th-generation Xeon Scalable processors shortly after launching the 13th-generation Core mobile processors. With the launch of Xeon Scalable CPUs, GPUs and Max Series CPUs for the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor, Intel marked a major milestone in the company’s history.
In order to deliver the optimal total cost of ownership, Intel provides purpose-built acceleration tailored to specific workloads and software that is optimized for particular workloads.
Using CPU resources to the fullest extent possible, these processors optimize power and performance, helping customers reach their sustainability goals. The 4th Gen Xeon processor is expected to improve performance per watt by 2.9×1 when compared to the previous generation. High-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads benefit greatly from the 64 gigabytes of high band-width memory offered by the Xeon CPU Max Series. Xeon CPU Max-Series is upto 3.8 times faster than the most powerful third-generation Xeon Scalable processor in a variety of practical workloads, including earth systems modeling.
Lastly, Intel is able to offer a wide range of processors thanks to the modular architecture of 4th Gen Xeon. A total of 50 targeted SKUs are available, ranging from regular purpose SKUs to cloud-optimized SKUs, network deployment, multi-socket edge storage. This new generation of Xeon processors supports On Demand and comes in a wide range of configurations for frequency and core count to meet the diverse needs of today’s businesses.
