The security agencies seized 28.40 gm of heroin powder worth more than Rs. 3 lakhs. Reportedly, the arrests and seizing were made when the seven insurgent outfits, which include proscribed PLA, UNLF, PREPAK and KCP, opted for the shutdown of 18 hours in Manipur that started on Thursday at 6 pm.

The Assam Rifles gave a statement claiming that one person among the two, who were arrested with the drugs worth Rs. 3 lakhs in a small district of Manipur, Jiribam, is a working cadre of the PLA.

The drug smugglers and the seized drugs were handed over to the Manipur Police, who will further take the case forward with legal proceedings and statements and investigate the matter to find the root of the drug smuggling in the region.
