Assam’s tallest Shiva statue, with a height of 91 feet, will be unveiled on Maha Shivratri, i.e. on February 18th. This new statue will become the sixth tallest Maha Deva statue in India. It is located near Sri Sri Baba Dudhnath Kharjhara Ashram in Nalbari. The statue was constructed using cement and stone and was built at the cost of around 32 lahks by the Maha Lakshmi Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies. The tallest statue in the Northeast was decorated by miner Pradeep Pal and his team of 20 people.
The assistant campaigner of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Assam region, Vasishtha Bujarbaru, will inaugurate the statue on Maha Shivratri.
The inauguration of the Shiva statue has picked up the interest of several devotees who are excited to have the darshan of the statue on Maha Shivratri. It is expected that this new addition to the Etiya Kharjhara Ashram will provide a boost to the tourism industry in the North Eastern region.
