Kits stolen in transit from DC players, investigation underway

While travelling from Bangalore to Delhi following an IPL game, sixteen cricket bats and other cricketing equipment were taken from the kit bags of the Delhi Capitals players. The stolen items include five bats from young Yash Dhull, three from team captain David Warner, two from all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, three from wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt, and two from Mitchell Marsh.

After realizing something was missing when their gear was delivered to their rooms, the players notified the franchise and the police. After each game, the Delhi Capitals players collect their kit bags from the hallway outside their rooms at the away location thanks to the logistical business they contracted. The players are astonished and saddened by the heist.

The police have begun investigating the incident and are trying to retrieve the missing gear. The Delhi Capitals’ next game is scheduled for April 22 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, whether or not the stolen equipment is retrieved in time for the game is an open question.

On April 30, when the Mumbai Indians host the Rajasthan Royals, the event celebrating the 1000th game of the Indian Premier League will take place.
