A leopard invaded a residential neighborhood of Guwahati on Thursday morning and attacked two people, causing panic on Friday. While emergency medical services tended to the injured, the forest service was notified to take over the situation.
Early in the morning, the leopard was allegedly seen prowling the neighborhood. A wild animal attacked two residents, Suman Kumar Singh and M Devi, while they strolled around the region. They sustained critical injuries and were sent to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Officials from the forest department were alerted to the situation and responded promptly.
Locals now worry that additional wild animals may wander into populated areas after this occurrence. Locals have been urged to use extreme caution and take all necessary safety measures while venturing into the region.
In this part of the country, it is not unusual for wild animals to wander into human settlements. The forest service has been implementing steps to protect locals in case of forest fires.
“We’ve been doing initiatives to raise people’s consciousness of these issues so they’ll be better prepared to respond. We’re also taking measures to beef up patrols in the region to deter future attacks “a representative from the forest service stated.
