December 26, 2020:. On friday night, Union Home Minister Shree Amit Shah arrived at the LGBI airport in Guwahati and was personally recieved by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He was further welcomed by folk artists and locals at the airport exit. Shah expressed his thanks in a tweet written in Assamese which reads, “Reached Guwahati! I wholeheartedly thank the people of Assam for such a warm welcome.”
Shah will inaugurate a number of projects and events in the state including laying foundations of a new medical college in Guwahati being built as the country’s biggest medical college and hospital. He will also law foundation stones for many projects from Amingaon on Saturday including one for the development of the Batadrava Than at Bardowa.
He will also distribute a financial grant of INR 2.5 lakhs to 8,000 Namghars in the State under the Assam Darshan program. The Union Minister will also lay foundation for nine law colleges throughout the state. He will also meet Sonowal on Saturday evening and on sunday, 27th morning, is scheduled to visit the Kamakhya temple before flying to Imphal.
In Imphal, he will lay foundation stones for the Churachandpur Medical College and hospital, state government guesthouse in Imphal, IIT at Muongkhong and Manipur Police headquarters in Imphal.
