The updated 2023 Hyundai i20 will debut in India shortly

The newly refreshed appearance of the Hyundai i20 is well known to everyone. Having said that, the reason we are discussing it here because recently Hyundai has issued teasers of its premium hatchback. Before its launch scheduled later in the year, the carmaker treated fans on social media to an early glimpse of the upcoming model.

If you believe the rumours, it is predicted that the upcoming facelift model of the Hyundai i20 will have a number of important feature upgrades. When launched, the hatchback version of the 2023 i20 will revive the company’s competition in the compact segment against models such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and others.

According to sources, few modifications will take place on the side and back of the car; however, the overall silhouette will stay comparable to the prior edition. The design of the alloy itself can also undergo some minor changes. A series of aesthetic enhancements are set to transform the i20 facelift into a visually appealing hatchback. On Indian highways, the redesigned Hyundai i20 has already been seen undergoing road testing on multiple occasions. On the outside, the only alterations that will be made are going to be a larger grille finished in gloss black and new designs for the alloy wheels.

In terms of mechanics, the next iteration of the i20 seems to be a carbon copy of the current model. Although differing in output, both the turbo-petrol and naturally aspirated petrol motors persist as choices. Offering manual and CVT transmission choices for the NA version, while the turbo-petrol has iMT and DCT options available.

The interior of the forthcoming i20 also comes with few modern amenities. Visible transformations to both the front and back, as revealed in the recent teaser, accentuate the car’s appearance. Reportedly, it is expected that the dual dashcam will become standard equipment across Hyundai’s product line-up. In addition, the facelift could incorporate ADAS technology identical to the European variant. Notably, the automaker has kept spec-based details under wraps, save for a few cutting-edge features expected to debut with the model. These exceptions include an electric sunroof adjuster, dual parking sensors, ambient lighting, a multi-function steering wheel, automatic dual climate control, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, multiple airbags, and a larger 10.25-inch touch-screen infotainment system

Changes within the engine are improbable when it comes to Hyundai. As optional choices, you’ll find the same 1.2-liter petrol or the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit in the new i20. With a capacity of just 1.2 liters, this engine manages to generate a substantial 82 bhp and 114.7 Nm of torque. This unit generates 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of maximum torque. Either a five-speed manual, an IVT, or a seven-speed DCT gearbox takes care of transmitting the job.

A slight increase from its current price point is anticipated for the updated Hyundai i20, beginning at around Rs 7.45 lakh and peaking at roughly Rs 11.87 lakh. So stay tuned and don’t miss out any important updates!
