Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on land middleman said that, middlemen must be eliminated from the system and the general public must be able to get their land-related works done without any hassle.
CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma gave this statement while he was addressing the officials on the second day of the two-day State Level Conference of ADCs (Revenue) and Circle Officers (Attached). The Conference was, organized by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of Assam (RDM) at Srimanta Sarkardev Kalakshetra.
CM, in his address, said that the state will give full support to the circle officers for implementation of Mission Basundhara in a time-bound manner and provide 10 services under the scheme to people for updating land records online, land mutation, conversion, etc. He also announced that conducting a survey of non-cadastral villages is one of the main objectives of the mission, of complete land record digitization in the state by December 2023.
CM further said that Government is trying to facilitate the people by getting their land-related work done without coming to the circle office. Under this mission, people will be able to apply online for land mutation, updating of land records, etc. and people can also register their grievances online, mission Basundhara will fast-track the disposal of such cases.
Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the aim of the mission is to make the functioning of Circle Offices clean and transparent and strict action would be taken against Circle Officers if middlemen are allowed to operate in Circle offices. Along with CM important features like Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary of Avinash Joshi, Commissioner and Secretary of RDM MS Manivannan, CEO of Assam State Disaster Management Authority GD Tripathi were present among others were also present in the event.
