Two Women and a Man Arrested in Assam’s Silchar Town for Attempting to Steal Baby
In a horrifying turn of events at Assam’s Silchar Medical College and Hospital, three people were arrested allegedly for attempting to kidnap a newborn baby.
The alleged accused were caught by the staff and other visitors in the maternity ward while trying to flee with the child in their arms. The accused reportedly made contact with the mother in the maternity ward, offering to help calm the crying baby down.
According to reports, after the mother took them up on their offer and handed the baby to the two women, they attacked her and tried to flee with the baby. The man, allegedly with them, waited for the women outside the ward.
The security personnel and other visitors stopped the accused to the ward after the mother raised a cry for help following the attack. All three of the conspirators that are known so far have been apprehended and taken into custody by the police.
The police have also started an investigation into the incident.
