Music director, lyricist, and singer Javed Akhtar recently shared a hilarious story about his marriage. He said that his marriage with Shabana Azmi worked because they rarely met.
Both Bollywood stars share a marriage that contains space, trust, friendship, and respect. Shabana however have mentioned that she wanted her lyricist husband to be more romantic. However, Javed Akhtar mentioned that he was fascinated by her for no reason. He further said he still couldn’t decide when he fell in love with the classic beauty. Javed, on many occasions, expressed that the reason behind their successful marriage is that they don’t meet each other very frequently.
Javed Akhtar was previously married to Honey Irani, from which he has two children, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar. However, his marriage with Honey Irani didn’t last, and they soon parted ways. After their separation, Shabana and Javed Akhtar tied the knot in 1984.
People had many questions about the secret behind the long-lasting relationship these years. In an episode of Koffee with Karan, Javed Akhtar mentioned tension in their relationship.
He said, “If people are totally similar, there is no point in living together because then one is enough. And if people are totally different, then also there is no point in living together, because you won’t be able to live like that. You need some similarities and certain dissimilarities, that kind of tension is interesting.”
