Dr. Sambuddha Dhar Bags The prestigious ‘Gaurav Shri Samman’ from Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari
A proud moment for Northeast! Renowned Doctor of Assam’s Silchar Dr. Sambuddha Dhar was honored with the prestigious’ Gaurav Shri Samman’ by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Around 40 achievers from different fields were honored with the ‘Gaurav Shri Samman 2023’ at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The event was organized by a social service organization ‘Maitry Peace Foundation.’
Many renowned personalities were present in the ceremony, including Maitri Peace Foundation President Buddhist Bhikkhu Surjit Barua, Singer and Musician Anu Malik, Kailash Masoom of Buddhanjali Creations, Actor Rajpal Yadav, and many more.
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar was awarded for his remarkable contribution to his field. Dr. Dhar performed the first brain operation of the Chandauli district while practicing at Varanasi UP.He and his team successfully operated the patient and helped him live a normal life again.
Dr. Sambuddha Dhar honoured for overall achievement in the field of Neurosciences at Varanasi and Assam at large.
Dr. Dhar is currently serving as the Assistant Professor & Head of Neurosurgery in SMCH. He completed his MBBS and MS from JIPMER, MCh from IMS-BHU, Microneurosurgery from AIIMS Delhi, Neurointervention from INK-Kolkata. At just the age of 36, he performed more than 4000 neurosurgeries with almost touching 200 at SMCH alone. In his words – “I dream to take Barak Valley and SMCH to national standards as far as neurosciences is concerned”. Recently he also started Neurointervention at SMCH for the first time.
