BJP Yuva Morcha Leader Detained for Assault and Attempt to Murder in Assam’s Cachar District
President of Karimganj Yuva Morcha, Biswarup Bhattacharjee, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting and attempting to murder a research scholar from Assam University.
Reportedly, Biswajit Rudrapaul, a research scholar from Assam University, failed an FIR again Biswarup Bhattacharjee claiming that he tried to murder him with an iron rod. As per the statement given by Biswajit, Biswarup Bhattacharjee and another student of Assam University, Krishnangshu Chakraborty, came late at night and attacked him. He mentioned that the accused hit him on his head with an iron rod and tried choking him.
According to the police, the victim mentioned that the Karimganj Yuva Morcha leader, along with Krishnangshu Chakraborty, destroyed his property and threatened him to go worst in the future. However, the victim didn’t mention the root cause behind the incident.
After the FIR was lodged, the police detained the accused under IPC sections 448, 307, and 506 for illegal house trespass, murder attempts, and criminal activities.
However, the SP of Cachar district mentioned that there were no visible injuries on the victim’s body. Besides, even the doctor didn’t find any deep injury after conducting the required medical examination. He further stated that as a complaint had been logged, the police picked the accused for interrogation if it was an attempt to murder.
Additionally, the Assam University Student’s Union president Shubhamoy Chanda stated that Biswajit had lodged a fake complaint which his medical report has made cleared.
