Karan Deol, son of Bollywood star Sunny Deol, reportedly got engaged to Drisha Roy, manager at a travel business in Dubai and great-granddaughter of famed filmmaker Bimal Roy, in a much-anticipated announcement. The two, rumoured to have been friends since they were young, are expected to announce their engagement soon.
The wedding, according to reports, will be a small, intimate ceremony at the Taj Lands End in Bandra, Mumbai. There has been no formal confirmation of the wedding dates, but the families have settled on a schedule.
The Deol family is among the most famous families in Bollywood, which has been active in the Indian film business for many years. Ghayal, Damini, Border, and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha are just a few of the hit movies in which Sunny Deol has had a role. His brother Bobby Deol and his father Dharmendra are also famous performers in their own right.
Drisha Roy, on the other hand, was also born into a filmmaking dynasty. One of the first prominent figures in Indian cinema, her great-grandfather Bimal Roy directed such classics as Do Bigha Zamin, Devdas, and Bandini. Numerous well-known actors and actresses from India’s film industry are expected guests for the wedding. The families have not publicly announced the ceremony’s guest list, but reliable sources claim that many celebrities are on the guest list.
