Actress Swara Bhasker compares Rahul Gandhi with Bollywood: Says ‘pappufication’ is going on in Bollywood
Popular actress Swara Bhasker is known for her remarkable works in some underrated characters. However, she is also popular for making strange remarks. In a current event she compared the ongoing ‘Boycott’ culture in Bollywood to the Congress political leader, Rahul Gandhi.
Swara Bhasker sighted some of the reasons why Bollywood is not working very well at the box office lately. She mentioned that primarily, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has constructed a wrong reputation of the Hindi film industry into the audience’s mind. In the same context she compared politician Rahul Gandhi and his vision.
She spoke referring films that faced boycott on Twitter, which includes Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan who also struggled at the box office. Besides, some more upcoming movie like Liger and Pathaan couldn’t spare themselves from facing the same challenge that trends on the micro-blogging sites. The situation of Bollywood is worsening with time, as only a few films could actually taste success since last year.
Swara also pointed out the fact that due to the post Covid-19 thoughts, audiences are not reaching out to theaters to watch movies. She mentioned the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput and said that people are now picturing Bollywood at a darker sight of drugs, sex and alcohol. She further added and said that the current situation of Bollywood is similar to the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is often mocked and called as ‘Pappu’. She mentioned that despite everyone calls him Pappu, she entirely disagrees to it. She expressed that she did meet Rahul Gandhi on several occasions and she found him “perfectly intelligent and an articulate man.” According to her, Rahul Gandhi has always been projected in a misleading way, just like the Hindi films are thrashed currently.
