The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth release for the much-anticipated film “Oh My God 2” (OMG 2). After the recent backlash faced by the film “Adipurush,” the CBFC’s revising committee has taken up the responsibility of carefully reviewing the content of OMG 2.
With dialogues and scenes related to God and religion under scrutiny, the CBFC aims to pre-empt any potential controversies that could arise. Adipurush, directed by Om Raut, faced severe criticism for its dialogues, costumes, and graphics, with some viewers claiming that it hurt their religious sentiments.
OMG 2, directed by Amit Rai, boasts a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi. Arun Govil is also part of the cast who is popularly known for his portrayal of Lord Rama in the iconic television series Ramayan. Akshay Kumar will be seen essaying a character inspired by Lord Shiva in the film.
Scheduled for release on August 11, OMG 2 will face stiff competition from “Gadar 2,” starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. The makers of OMG 2 are taking every precaution to ensure a balanced portrayal of religious elements and maintain sensitivity toward viewers’ sentiments.
