Veteran Bollywood actor Sharmila Tagore recently opened up about her controversial bikini scene in the movie “An Evening in Paris”, which stirred up a storm in the late 1960s. The scene even led to questions being raised in Parliament. However, in a recent interview, Tagore stated that the swimsuit she wore in the movie appears quite innocent compared to the more modern swimwear prevalent today.
Tagore also talked about her transition from glamorous roles to more serious cinema, stating that honing her acting skills was her priority. She added that she wanted to make a difference through her work and chose films that would challenge her as an actor.
The actor also spoke about the success of her film “Aradhana,” which featured Rajesh Khanna in the lead role and was a huge hit, despite an ongoing Hindi boycott in Chennai at that time.
Tagore concluded by emphasizing that emotions transcend language and that commonalities among people far exceed differences, especially when it comes to films, irrespective of the region they come from.
