‘The Kerala Story’ Box Office Success Sparks Controversy and Debate – Crosses 50 Cr Mark

Despite claims of factual fabrication, the controversial film “The Kerala Story,” directed by Sudipto Sen, has caused a stir in the Indian film industry. Within its first five days of release, the movie made a total of Rs 56.72 crore, surpassing the Rs 50 crore mark in less than a week.

On its fifth day of release, the movie’s success has resulted to a total occupancy of 29.67 percent in the Hindi-speaking region of the nation, demonstrating that audiences are still flocking there in large numbers to see it. People disagree over the movie’s depiction of events, which has caused a lot of debate and discussion on social media.

It’s interesting to note that the movie is still trailing the equally contentious 2022 movie “The Kashmir Files,” which took in Rs 18 crore on its opening Tuesday. The Uttar Pradesh government, however, took notice of the film and declared it “tax-free.”

The West Bengal administration, on the other hand, has banned the movie due to worries about alleged factual inaccuracy.

Actor Tovino Thomas recently addressed the controversy around the movie, advising viewers to avoid believing anything without doing their own research and establish their own conclusions.
