India Will Not Travel to Pakistan For Asia Cup: IPL Chairman

Fans can’t wait for India and Pakistan to square off in the showdown of the Asia Cup 2023. Before their ODI World Cup encounter on October 15 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, the two countries will play each other twice in the Asia Cup.

After a meeting between BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf, the calendar for the Asia Cup 2023 competition has been agreed, as reported by IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal ahead of Thursday’s ICC Board meeting. Dhumal also stated categorically that the Indian squad will not be travelling to Pakistan to compete in any Asia Cup games.

Pakistani sports minister Ehsaan Mazari recently told the Indian Express that his country would seek a neutral site for its World Cup matches in India if the host country insisted on holding the Asia Cup there.
The 2023 Asia Cup will feature a split format, with four games contested in Pakistan and the rest in Sri Lanka. Before the BCCI declined to send the Indian team there, the competition was set to take place in Pakistan.
